GAMRIF Summit 2025 – Connected challenges, connected solutions
The Global AMR R&D Hub was honored to participate in the Global AMR Innovation Fund (GAMRIF) Summit, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from March 11–13. This pivotal event brought together global experts to assess the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) innovation landscape, explore challenges and opportunities, and drive forward solutions.
Taking Stock of the Global AMR Innovation Landscape
Day 1 focused on progress since the 2nd High-Level Meeting on AMR, examining key milestones and their impact on the research community.

Panel discussions explored critical areas of AMR R&D, with the Hub’s Dr. Lesley Ogilvie chairing a session on The Innovation Landscape – From Concept to Users. This session examined the innovation pipeline across One Health sectors, identifying opportunities and challenges in driving progress. Speakers included:

Discussions emphasized the urgent need for innovation in AMR solutions. Dr. Erin Duffy (CARB-X) chaired a session on advancing innovation for LMICs, while a fireside chat between Dr. Henry Skinner (AMR Action Fund) and Dr. Ghada Zoubiane (LifeArc) explored fueling late-stage R&D.
The day closed with a performance by LifeLine Musical, reinforcing the importance of AMR awareness.
From ideas to action: how can the research community mobilise and implement?
Day 3 spotlighted real-world implementation. GAMRIF-funded projects provided key updates, followed by a deep dive into sustainable innovation for LMICs. The Global AMR R&D Hub participated in a panel discussion alongside FAILSAFE, BactiVac, the RIGHT Foundation, and ICARS, highlighting:
