JPIAMR Final Conference: Celebrating a Decade of AMR Collaboration and Innovation

Innovation often happens at the interfaces”

—a powerful reminder from Dame Sally Davies and Irene Norstedt to think beyond traditional boundaries.

The Hub was honoured to participate in the JPIAMR Final Conference (May 7-8th) in Stockholm, marking ten years of collaborative research and innovation on antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Our Deputy Director, Ralf Sudbrak, represented the Hub, while our advisor, Prof. Till Bachmann, showcased how we are shaping the global AMR R&D landscape through data-driven coordination and strategic foresight.

Key takeaways from the event include:

  • Shahida Syed announced the pre-launch of the first call under the European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR) (expected October 2025), focusing on innovative and cost-effective treatment options.

  • Prof. David W. Graham highlighted the role of AI in AMR research, noting that “AI can’t think for you, but it can screen massive amounts of information.”

We extend our gratitude to JPIAMR for spearheading a decade of transnational collaboration and setting the foundation for the next chapter in One Health AMR research.
