Tokyo AMR One Health Conference – Spotlighting the Asia Pacific Region
AMR is a global challenge that demands attention from all corners of the world—North and South, East and West.
From February 18-19, the Tokyo AMR One-Health Conference 2025, hosted by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare, convened approximately 170 experts and policymakers from 29 countries in Tokyo and online to advance the conversation on AMR.
In the wake of some key global milestones in 2024—including the UNGA High-Level Meeting on AMR and the 4th Ministerial Conference on AMR—momentum is growing to accelerate action and deliver tangible results. This conference built on those discussions, focusing on concrete solutions to mitigate the spread of AMR.
The Global AMR R&D Hub was honored to participate in this important event, represented by our Director, Lesley Ogilvie, giving a presentation on the importance of AMR R&D, and Dr. Frank Tu.
We extend our gratitude to the Japanese government for organizing this crucial forum, and especially, for amplifying the voices of LMICs. Global collaboration is essential to curbing AMR. Let’s keep the momentum going!
