Towards a Global AMR Diagnostics Consortium: Updates from Accra, Ghana
On 16–17 June 2025, the Hub participated in the two-day meeting “Towards a Global AMR Diagnostics Consortium: Strategies and Partnerships” in Accra, Ghana—co-organised by the Fleming Initiative, GARDP, and FIND.
Our Director, Dr Lesley Ogilvie, contributed to the discussions by presenting the economic and policy case for AMR diagnostics, drawing from the Hub’s Dynamic Dashboard and Market Potential Report.
The meeting highlighted the essential role of diagnostics in addressing AMR by enabling timely treatment, reducing inappropriate antimicrobial use, and limiting the spread of resistant pathogens.
We thank the organisers for convening this important dialogue, which could pave the way for a global AMR diagnostics consortium—a key component within the broader WHO Global Coalition on Diagnostics.
