Study Publication: National Policy Options for AMR Innovation

What tools do National health systems have at their disposal to further reward the development and uptake of much needed new antibiotics and diagnostics?  Undertaken by the team at the Austrian Institute of Public Health (GÖG), the Global AMR R&D Hub is happy to publicly-release this important study today. This comprehensive review of available policy tools within pricing, reimbursement and procurement in ten G20 countries, includes concrete examples and suggestions for learning, leverage and implementation. This is one of three studies that were used to derive our recently-published recommendations put forward to the G7 and G20 for their ongoing reflections. Accelerating Antimicrobial Development & Access

04.03.2021: The Hub is proud to put forward to the G7 & G20, key emerging insights from its forthcoming studies that it was tasked to undertake by its board of members and G20 Leaders. The results of our initial studies reiterate the challenges that remain in the post-market space and propose concrete steps forward in accelerating antimicrobial development and access for building a more secure future ecosystem.

New collaboration between PAR Foundation and the Global AMR R&D Hub

Public and philanthropic investments in AMR R&D related to fungi

28.01.2021: The Dynamic Dashboard now also shows data on projects financed by public and philanthropic funders that support human health-related AMR R&D addressing fungi. A short report with an initial analysis of the first set of more than 1000 such projects is available here.

Launch of Funding Distributor Report in Dynamic Dashboard

Policy Brief: Country Perspectives on Incentives

15.12.2020: In collaboration with the EU Joint Action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections (EU-JAMRAI), the Global AMR R&D Hub publishes a policy brief “Incentivizing antibiotic access and innovation”. The brief presents the overall results from in-depth interviews with 13 countries – including 3 x outside of the EU. Findings include general support for antibiotic incentives, with the majority of interviewed countries preferring incentives that will secure access to both old and new antibiotics. Countries want more information on suitable multinational models and costs. Full manuscript is expected in 2021. Read the policy brief here.

Research Organisations Information in Dynamic Dashboard Investment Gallery

19.11.2020: As of today the Dynamic Dashboard shows data on the close to 1900 organisations from 64 countries across the world that receive funding for AMR R&D. This new expansion of the functionalities allows a detailed look at the global fabric of AMR R&D. Several existing reports in the Dynamic Dashboard now allow filtering by the type of research organisation. First Dynamic Dashboard analysis report and recommendations to the G20

18.11.2020: The Global AMR R&D Hub publishes its first report “The state of public and philanthropic investments in AMR R&D – The 2020 annual report of the Global AMR R&D Hub’s Dynamic Dashboard”. Based on the report the Board of Members has issued recommendations to the Group of 20.

The report represents the first consolidation of national AMR-related R&D funding and a start to providing a comprehensive global picture.
