Dr Ralf Sudbrak is a biologist and genomics specialist with extensive experience across science, policy and international research coordination. Since joining the Global AMR R&D Hub in Berlin in 2019, he has helped strengthen global collaboration and evidence-informed decision-making on antimicrobial resistance research and development. After a postdoctoral position at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, he spent more than 15 years at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin. He contributed to the Human Genome Project and later served as a project leader in the 1000 Genomes Project. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers, including in Nature, Nature Genetics and Science. His expertise includes research portfolio analysis and assessment of European research framework programmes. Ralf brings a data-driven perspective to AMR policy, translating complex investment and research landscapes into practical insights for stakeholders globally.
