4th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on AMR
The Global AMR R&D Hub were thrilled to participate in the 4th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on AMR hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which took place in Jeddah from the 14th to the 16th of November.
The 14th of November was designated as Non-State Actor Day, with a lineup of esteemed speakers from multiple sectors, the programme of which can be found here.
Non-State Actor Day began with two powerful keynote speeches from H.E. Abdulaziz bin Hamad AlRamaih, Vice Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia, and AMR Champion Dr Hanan Balkhy, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Both speakers highlighted the scale and scope of the AMR challenge and how conflict is exacerbating its already wide-reaching impacts to an unprecedented degree. This set the stage for an inspiring and powerful day of AMR advocates and experts who provided local, regional and global perspectives.
The Global AMR R&D Hub were invited to host a breakout session on research and innovation exploring the question of what constitutes a sustainable research and development ecosystem, and focussing on implementation of real world solutions to create enabling environments for innovation.
We thank all who attended, with particular gratitude to our esteemed session speakers:
