From 3–4 March, the Global AMR R&D Hub joined the AMR Conference 2026 in Basel, which brought together international stakeholders working to advance solutions to antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Representing the Hub, Suzanne Edwards and Usha Lamichhane engaged with partners across the AMR ecosystem and contributed to discussions on strengthening the global R&D and policy landscape.

Suzanne also moderated two sessions exploring key levers for progress:
* Europe’s AMR Chessboard: Moves that Matter
* Co-ordinating Procurement to Support Strategic Commercialisation
The sessions highlighted how policy tools, procurement strategies, and incentives can help accelerate innovation and improve access to new antimicrobials.
The conference offered a valuable platform to exchange perspectives and deepen collaboration on addressing AMR globally.
