Securing a future where antimicrobials still save lives
At the AMR Summit 2026 in Australia, the message was clear: the time for discussion alone has passed — now is the time for delivery. Leaders from across sectors, organisations, and countries came together to accelerate practical, coordinated solutions to antimicrobial resistance.
The Hub was pleased to contribute to this important exchange, represented by our Secretariat Director, Lesley Ogilvie.
Lesley joined the keynote session, “Funding the Fight: AMR and Global Power Dynamics,” alongside Selina Namchee Lo, Elisabeth Hedström, and Steve Wesselingh, moderated by Misbah Khan.
In her remarks, Lesley underscored the importance of strengthened cooperation and collaboration in AMR R&D. Drawing on insights from the Hub’s Dynamic Dashboard — the most comprehensive global overview of public and philanthropic AMR R&D investments and incentive initiatives — she highlighted how transparency and shared visibility can drive smarter alignment, reduce fragmentation, and support more strategic investment decisions.

AMR is a global public good challenge that demands sustained financing, strengthened governance, and coordinated One Health action across borders and sectors. Turning ambition into impact will require working together — with clarity, consistency, and commitment.
A Summit report was published following the event capturing the key themes, discussions and insights from the three days of discussions. Access the report here.
Thank you to CSIRO and the Fleming Initiative for convening this timely and impactful Summit.
