EU-JAMRAI 2 Meeting Advances One Health Action on AMR in Europe
From 28 – 30 January, the meeting brought together nearly 300 participants, including policymakers, researchers, project partners, and other stakeholders, both in person and online, to support a coordinated response to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) across Europe.
Over three days, EU-JAMRAI 2 shared progress on putting the One Health approach into practice. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration across human, animal, and environmental health, including better surveillance systems, improved infection prevention and control, stronger antimicrobial stewardship, responsible use of antimicrobials, and improved access to essential medicines.
Ralf Sudbrak, alongside other participants, contributed to the discussions and shared examples from partner countries, highlighting practical efforts that are already making a difference.
A key part of the programme was the Stakeholder Forum, which held its first edition during this Annual Meeting. It featured a series of roundtables and discussion panels bringing together representatives from international organisations working across different dimensions of AMR, including the ECDC, EFSA, UNEP, and FAO. It also included voices from science, industry, and civil society.
