EU OHAMR Annual Partnership Meeting

The European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EU OHAMR) held its annual meeting from 24–27 March 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

Hosted by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), this four-day meeting brought together partners, policymakers, and researchers to share updates on ongoing work and discuss priorities for the Partnership. The programme included the second in-person General Assembly as well as several parallel side meetings.

Discussions highlighted the role of social sciences in AMR, the framing of AMR as a global challenge, and how implementation science and innovation can help translate research into impact. Sessions featured inputs from the Scientific Advisory Board, followed by exchanges on key barriers and opportunities for progress.

The Global AMR R&D Hub, represented by Deputy Director Ralf Sudbrak, took part in Work Package 6 discussions on impact and gap analysis in AMR R&D funding, and joined the WP5 workshop as an invited expert on research data management.

The Hub will soon become a full member of the Partnership, which aims to advance a comprehensive One Health approach to tackling AMR, including stronger integration of social sciences.
