This event on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), hosted by the Access to Medicine Foundation in collaboration with the Fleming Initiative, brought together more than 100 senior leaders from government, industry, investment, and civil society.
Participants discussed how to move from global commitments on AMR to real, practical action. Key issues included a weak pipeline for new antibiotics, ongoing challenges in access to existing treatments, and the need for stronger coordination across sectors.
The AMR Benchmark was a key reference point in the discussions, highlighting that current levels of innovation are not enough to meet global needs. It also reinforced the importance of using evidence alongside policy and commitments to strengthen accountability and support progress.
Lesley Ogilvie from the Hub took part in the discussions, contributing to the exchange of perspectives across sectors.
Overall, the event highlighted the need for continued cooperation and more coordinated action to address AMR effectively.
