G20 Brazil 3rd Health Working Group Meeting
From June 2-6, the 3rd Health Working Group Meeting under Brazil’s G20 Presidency took place offering an opportunity to discuss key global health challenges. 🇧🇷
The Global AMR R&D Hub was honoured to be a voice at these events in Salvador, Brazil and keep action against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the spotlight.
At the 3rd G20 Health Working Group Meeting:
- We emphasised the need to redefine the value of antimicrobials, focusing on quality of life and societal benefits
- We highlighted the importance of understanding the complex dynamics of AMR emergence and transmission at human-animal-plant-environment interfaces and the impacts of climate change on AMR
- We voiced our strong support for the international community’s focus on equitable access to health technologies and pandemic preparedness.
We also extend our gratitude to all partners who organised excellent co-branded events that complemented the efforts of the G20 Health Working Group and kept a focus on AMR.
The active initiatives and participation of diverse global actors are a promising and reassuring sign for all who care about the fight against AMR.
We are proud to align with the Brazilian Presidency’s initiatives and look forward to further collaboration in combating AMR and enhancing global health.
