International Conference on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance
Control and prevention of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) requires a holistic One Health approach involving specialists from different sectors and disciplines. In line with this concept, the 3rd International Conference on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, and brought together representatives from the public health, medical, veterinary, environmental and food safety sectors to share knowledge and tools for understanding and reducing the risks of AMR at the interphase between humans, animals and the environment. The programme extended beyond zoonotic transfer of AMR to encompass the numerous AMR-related challenges shared by clinicians, clinical microbiologists, infectious disease specialists and researchers working in these sectors.
The historic Festsalen at the University of Copenhagen provided a sublime backdrop to presentations from the likes of Till Bachmann, Martha Clokie and Michela Gambino. The Global AMR R&D Hub was represented at the conference by Director, Dr Lesley Ogilvie; Deputy Director, Dr Ralf Sudbrak; and Scientific Programme Officer, Usha Lamichhane.
