UN Multistakeholder Meeting on AMR

UN Multistakeholder Meeting on AMR

On May 15th, the Global AMR R&D Hub’s Director Lesley Ogilvie and Deputy Director Ralf Sudbrak attended the Multi-Stakeholder Hearing of the UN High-Level Meeting on AMR in New York, in the lead up to September’s meeting.

In her intervention, Lesley made a strong call to bolster AMR R&D, establishing targets based on public health priorities and embedding sustainability, equitable access & accountability across the push and pull spectrum.

We need to ensure that life-saving products are developed, accessible to those that need them most and that they are used with care. To make this a reality we need to start by supporting a more sustainable R&D ecosystem through increased and predictable multi-decade financing to incentivise innovation and sustain action
