18–20th January, 2023:The 1st Health Working Group meeting under the G20 India Presidency was held on 18 – 20 January 2023 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The meeting was attended by representatives of G20 member countries as well as invited countries and relevant international organisations. The Global AMR R&D Hub was invited to attend and take part in the discussions and interventions.
Discussions were centred on three priorities:
Priority 1: Health emergencies prevention, preparedness and response (with focus on One Health and AMR)
Priority 2: Strengthening Cooperation in Pharmaceutical Sector with Focus on Availability and Access to Safe, Effective, Quality and Affordable Medical Countermeasures – VTDs (Vaccines, Therapeutics & Diagnostics)
Priority 3: Digital Health Innovations and Solutions to Aid Universal Health Coverage and Improve Healthcare Service Delivery

The Global AMR R&D Hub applauds the Indian G20 Presidency and previous G20 presidencies for highlighting the need to address the increasing burden of AMR and to further the ongoing agenda and efforts through a One Health lens. We look forward to working further with the G20 Indian Presidency and global health stakeholders to deliver impact.
