Inaugural Plenary Assembly of the Quadripartite’s Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform
Dr Ralf Sudbrak, Deputy Director of the Global AMR R&D Hub Secretariat, travelled to Rome for the Inaugural Plenary Assembly of the Quadripartite’s Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform which took place on the 15th and 16th of November 2023.
Hosted at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Global AMR R&D Hub greatly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with other members of the Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform to discuss priorities for collective action on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to hear about the new Action Groups being launched.
The Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform was established and facilitated by the Quadripartite organisations: the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme, the World Health Organization, and the World Organisation for Animal Health.
The Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform is a way to redouble collective efforts to save millions of lives and aims to catalyse a global movement for action against AMR by fostering cooperation between a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels across the One Health spectrum. It seeks to ensure a healthier, more sustainable and resilient present and future in which antimicrobials are preserved as critical lifesaving medicines accessible to everyone.
The Global AMR R&D Hub is co-lead on two Action Groups and members of two further Action Groups. The Hub looks forward to continued engagement with Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform members in the months to come.
