Research and Innovation to Reduce the Burden of Antibiotic Resistance: Strengthening European Action

Dr Ralf Sudbrak represented the Global Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Research and Development (R&D) Hub in Paris, France at a Scientific Conference organised by the Institut Pasteur Center for Translational Science and Inserm (the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research) under the patronage of the French Presidency of the European Union.

The conference, titled Research and Innovation to Reduce the Burden of Antibiotic Resistance: Strengthening European Action, took place on the 7th of June and enabled a plethora of fruitful discussion, showcasing which options should be considered when incentivising innovation in the AMR field. The Hub contributed expert insight to the session on economic incentives for AMR:

Innovative research is key to reducing the burden of AMR. Pull incentives are needed to unlock and reward urgently needed innovation.
