The Crisis in Antibiotic Research and Development

At a time when existing antibiotics are becoming ineffective, pharmaceutical companies are not investing enough in research and development for new antibiotics. Is the world staring at a serious health emergency in the near future? Director of the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Development Hub Secretariat, Dr Lesley Ogilvie, spoke at a webinar hosted by the Centre for Science and Environment on what is needed to stimulate the antibiotic research and development ecosystem for sustainable and equitable antibiotic access.
