Workshop on Alternatives to Antimicrobials

Alternatives to antimicrobials are a crucial part of the tool-kit to mitigate the impacts of AMR across the human and animal health sector.

In the run up to the Latin America Microbiology Congress held from 23rd-25th August in Quito, Ecuador, the World Organisation for Animal Health and the STAR-IDAZ International Research Consortium on Animal Health organised a pre-congress workshop on Alternatives on Antimicrobials to explore this topic and share knowledge between funders, international organisations and academia.

Deputy Director of the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Research & Development Hub, Dr Ralf Sudbrak, travelled to Quito and gave a presentation on the work of the Hub. The Hub greatly enjoyed the opportunity to join discussions and present insights from the Dynamic Dashboard on the current funding landscape for this important topic.
